NORDIC AUDIO MODERN 2012

For almost a decade an independent label Autarkeia provoking industrial subculture as well as organising world famous performances strikes our society with continuous event cycle Nordic Audio Modern. After five years of silence Vilnius will be re-occupied by a largest industrial music festival in the Baltic Sea region. This would be the most massive event during a whole history of Autarkeia – two dark and intensive nights enlightened by essential and most powerful icons of industrial and ambient music. A special venue will be arranged for this event that ideally suits it. The 11–12 May 2012 event takes place in club Loftas well-known for its unique industrial atmosphere and extremely clear and harsh musical sound.

Under the persistent organisers’ supervision of quality and intelligence, an audience will receive another dose of pure and sophisticated industrial music. An event will see the supreme artists from Germany, Sweden and Lithuania. A special guest is label Loki Foundation from Leipzig, acting for already ten years. Artists under this world’s famous label will present their performances in the event.

Circular is a project created by one man whose career began in 2006 by releasing a debut album which was extremely highly rated. Music by Johannes Riedel is characterised as deep thinking and hypnotic ambient. His live performances radiate special vibes achieved by using analogical synths, guitars and many other sound sources. Educated as a classical musician, Johannes will guide you to the unique sound contemplation.

A most velvet and dreamy project of the event is Fjernlys. A sound of Fjernlys overflows into the atmosphere through gentle and subtle feelings, created by poetic ambient songs of miraculous woman voice, precise elements of percussion, viola and deep organic rhythms. This time artists will present a new programme with a majority of acoustic elements.

Herbst9 will immerse you into the utmost delicate audio trip of archaic world. The professionals who recently released the most mature and probably the best album in their history, received a great acknowledgment not only among the audience of dark ambient, but also other types of music around the world. Intensive ritual and percussive drumming floating into the atmospheric drone, unearthly sounds, acoustic instruments such as gongs, bells and citras – that is how the most true and rich audio art is created.

The sources of project Inade reach the year of 1991. Since that time the artists of dark ambient music deserved their taintless reputation due to extremely penetrating, consciousness striking albums and live performances of highest quality. The Inade will reveal spectacular atmosphere and cosmic quasars with the kinetic sound structures grounded by the solar architects themselves. A monumental sound world and magnificent video art express the whole performance of the project under a single term – audio mythology.

Land:Fire – a name that hides a flash of massive energy, surrounded by vortex of machine noise rhythms, interferences and electromagnetic waves. That is how under these complex structures of sound an apocalyptical atmosphere is created. One of the Herbst9 creators Alter Ego returns to Vilnius with a completely new track dedicated to the war and its ruins of the last century.

A sound of Ex.Order tunes with an extreme and intensive industrial melody. This project is based on concentrated and repulsive energy of sound, constructed by analogical sound waves, mechanical percussion, template collages and scary vocals. It would be very sensitive and artistic, reflecting German elegance, power electronics.

Three most productive and hyperactive guests from Sweden will deliver us with possibility to observe their performances – almost regular guest Lina Baby Doll and Kristian Olsson, and Swedish Jouni Havukainen playing for the first time in our country.

Survival Unit deserves a name of living cult and most inhuman PE project in a planet. Although the project has been terminated, Kristian Olsson will award us with a performance on this exceptional occasion. Reanimated for multiple times in various Autarkeia publications, Survival Unit is like an activated audio bomb which may explode even the strongest brains of most dedicated extreme music worshiper. A performance is intended for conceptualisation of the most complex aural music form.

Another live legend, Deutsch Nepal, who needs no presentation and is famous to various music scenes. Being not a newcomer and having released his new album Amygdala, a great general is back on track on this special occasion in Vilnius.

In Slaughter Natives is one of the oldest and pioneer projects, which contributed to the great golden era of Swedish industrial ambient. Acting for almost twenty years and currently mainly focusing on the quality of live performances a former pride of Cold Meat Industry will touch the strings of your souls with extremely sacral, symphonic industrial arrangements, martial rhythms, demon voice and neoclassical music elements.
Two musical projects from Lithuania will also be present at the event. You will enjoy a possibility to observe performance of Laurynas, an inspirer of the project oro!oro!. It is especially pure, penetrating and subliminal ambient music. A discography of Oro! Oro! consists of two full albums dedicated to fundamental periods of autumn and winter. Cold colours of sound, turbulent melancholy and a gale of transcendence – that is why this project is so unique in Lithuanian music scene.

It would be an honour to see the Maldur Atai, which may be called as the most obscure, creative and conceptual project in Lithuanian industrial scene. Rated as the most interesting experimental band in Lithuania in 2011, they should give us at least a surprise. Maldur Atai is a permanent balance between the rude industrial sounds and the secret rustle dark ambient along the extremely rich flow of musical samples. Every album of the project is a unique audio manifest created to strip a global lie and to reveal a conspiracy or in other words – sound paths to forbidden zone.
