ICETODIRON – hard swedish “industrial” recurring in Vilnius. (announcement)

On December 11, 04 (saturday) free-standing organisation “Autarkeia”, propagating the “industrial” subculture, will arrange the last concert this year – “Icetodiron”. During this, hard rhythmic “industrial” will be introduced to the audience by representatives of the world’s most famous swedish “industrial” school and Latvian project “Error”, already known to Lithuanians.

Though the golden age of musical mafia “Cold Meat Industry” has finished and some most challenging projects, that gave the huge impulse to “industrial” music development simply died, the latter axioms will be fully denied on Saturday night in Vilnius. This cold night will be violated by the legendary swedish “Megaptera”, joining the rest of performers. Although the new records under this name haven’t been released and its founder Peter Nystrom’s working on another musical project, a short “Megaptera” revival will occur in Vilnius. “Megaptera” is famous for being one of the originators of “death industrial” music style, outstanding for especially hard, slow, mechanical rhythmic, combined with gloomy “noise-ambient” and samples from the old “horror”, “thriller” films. The concept of “Megaptera” is particularly clear and straight. It’s just harsh, uncompromising atmospheric music. Principally affected by the media and supplemented with the ideas of Peter Nystrom, it reflects this threatful world, ruled by violence, where everybody’s dependant on unpredictable programs of life and death and diseases. Up to the year 2000, there were released approximately 15 albums of “Megaptera” in various formats by such well-known labels as “Cold Meat Industry”, “Slaughter Records”, “Old Evropa Café”. “The Curse Of The Scarecrow” album is likely the most interesting work of “death-industrial” style ever. Peter Nystrom’s “Megaptera” can be considered as pioneer of modern electronic music of its time as far as indisputable classics of Scandinavian “industrial”. Here in Vilnius the audience will get an opportunity to feel the power of its live performance probably for the last time. Actually, “Megaptera” wouldn’t be the only musical project of Peter, presented at “Icetodiron”. The idiom projection of non-existing “Megaptera” – “Negru Voda” – will be also introduced to the attendance. Peter has been stated repeatedly, that he disfavors the fact when records of different music stylistics are being released under the same project name. For the strictly defined style of “Megaptera” and the changing ideas of Peter, his recent works have been released under the name of “Negru Voda”. Thus, the music of “Negru Voda” is slashing and faster, as its mechanical rhythmic (for which conspicuous sound Swedish performers have gain the highest world’s standing) remains the same – massive and forcible.

“Des Esseintes” will be the next Scandinavian “industrial” performer, participating in “Icetodiron”. Magnus Sundstrom, the project maker, is the man of “Cold Meat Industry” mafia, known as the founder of atmospheric “martial” style project – “The Protagonist”. Like “Megaptera”, “The Protagonist” doesn’t exist for the present; Magnus is producing “Des Esseintes”, the hard, powerful, rhythmical work, standing in the same line with the harshest Swedish “industrial” works for its thrust.

The impertinent “power electronics” of “Error” already known to Lithuanian audience of the “Nordic Audio Modern” festival repertory. During the “Icetodiron”, this performer will introduce his new audio program.
